The Department of Marketing and Commerce of the Chernivtsi Trade and Economics Institute of the Kyiv National Trade and Economics University gives bachelor, specialist and master degrees in marketing, the minor of Marketing Goods and Services, as well as of bachelors and specialists in the major of commerce, minor Commerce activities on the Market of Goods and Services.
The preparation of specialists in Marketing was started in 1995 when the first students (53 people) were admitted to the minor of Marketing of goods and services. The first graduation of marketing specialists took place in 1997 when 44 institute graduates received their degrees in Marketing with the qualification of Market Economist.
In 2006 the Department was successfully accredited for the educational level of master. The license volume for master graduates is 25 people and the one for specialists (both full- and part-time) is 60 people.



The Departments science potential is rather high. Today the Department has 4 professors, 6 Ph.D.s with the academic title of assistant professor. Just for the last two years the Department got 2 new Ph.D.s, 2 professors, 4 post-graduates, and 2 masters. The work experience of more than one half of the Department professorate (55,3%) exceeds 10 years.
The Department of Marketing and Commerce has been headed by prof. Iryna Loshenyuk, Ph.D. since 1997. Ms. Loshenyuk defended her Ph.D. thesis in 1990. At the time she has been actively involved in research work, tutorship of Ph.D. students theses in the major 08.06.01 Economy, Organization and Management of Enterprises.
Prof. Loshenyuk has been completing her D.Sc. thesis Marketing Management of Retail Enterprise Competitiveness. At the time, a research-based monograph has been prepared for printing. Besides, Ms. Loshenyuk is a member of the Tacis work group involved in the project of Supporting the Local Development and Tourism in the Carpathian Region and is a member of the Trade Science and Methodology Commission of the Ministry of Science and Education in the course of Economy and Entrepreneurship.
A.M. Gumenyuk, Ph.D., professor of the Department of Marketing and Commerce. In 2000 Mr. Gumenyuk defended his Ph.D. thesis titled Organizational and Methodological Directions of Marketing Provision of Ukraines International Economic Priorities. In 2005 A.M. Gumenyuk started his D.Sc. studies in the Institute of Strategic Research (Kiev) and with the research topic of Structural and Institutional Changes in the System of Economic Security of the Regional Managerial Level.
O.M.Burdyak, Ph.D., professor of the Department of Marketing and Commerce. In 2000 Mr. Burdyak defended his Ph.D. thesis titled Economic Efficiency of Activities of Enterprise Marketing Departments. Prof. Burdyaks research is focused on the influence of marketing activities on the development of regional markets.
L.V. Osorib, Ph.D., assistant professor. In 1981 Ms. Osorib defended her Ph.D. thesis titled Corporate Trade Network of Industrial Enterprises, Its Improvement and Perspectives. Ms. Osoribs research is focused on the formation of goods range in regional retail.
M.S.Gumenyuk, Ph.D., senior teacher, Ph.D. student of KNTEU, major 08.06.01 Economy, Organization and Management of Enterprises. Ms. Gumeniuks research focuses on the use of information technologies in the analysis of restaurant market efficiency.
O.Ya. Bozulenko, senior teacher, Ph.D. candidate. Research focus: problems in wholesale development.
Yu.B.Chaplinskiy, senior teacher, Ph.D. student of KNTEU, major 08.06.01 Economy, Organization and Management of Enterprises. Research focus: market technologies in tourism.
G.V.Lyubkivska, senior teacher, Ph.D. student of KNTEU, major 08.06.01 Economy, Organization and Management of Enterprises. Research focus: formation of retail enterprise competitiveness.

O.Yu.Zhalba, senior teacher, Ph.D. student of KNTEU, major 08.06.01 Economy, Organization and Management of Enterprises. Research focus: marketing communications of the companies working on foreign markets.
O.Yu.Bessarab, senior teacher. Full-time Ph.D. student of KNTEU, major 08.06.01 Economy, Organization and Management of Enterprises. Research focus: Corporate marketing management.
V.A.Nikulcha, teaching assistant. Research focus: Marketing approach to the resolution of issues in foreign market access.
